A shelf behind the couch

I use roof battens for the substructure and laminate boards as a cover. The substructure is very simple, a long roof batten is used for stability and legs with angles are attached to this.

The substructure stands between the couch and the wall, then I screwed the laminate planks onto the substructure. The shelf is very practical for remote controls and other small items.
