The floating bed

Two beams serve as the basic framework on which the slatted frames lie and I used glued wood boards (spruce) as the frame. Everything is connected with galvanized steel angles. I covered the boards with upholstery fleece and artificial leather. The artificial leather is very easy to process, easy to care for and very cheap, but robust.

To increase stability, I screwed the inward legs onto two plates and weighted them with heavy concrete blocks. The back wall also consists of glued wood boards covered with artificial leather. Of course, a bedside table should not be missing.

The challenge was to make it stable even without legs. I simply screwed it to the frame and reinforced it from below with roof battens, which worked surprisingly well. An RGB light strip reinforces the illusion of “floating” a little.
